Mark Rubin – Bankruptcy Attorney
I graduated from law school in 1991. Upon graduation, I was extended an offer to work for Gardere & Wynne, a large law firm with over 200 lawyers. My area of expertise was corporate bankruptcy. After four years of practicing corporate bankruptcy, I realized that there was a far better use of my skills in my area of expertise. I also realized in my early days as an attorney that individuals and small businesses face financial uncertainty every day, and that educating individuals and small businesses regarding debt and financial options is very important. Thus, I left Gardere & Wynne and started Rubin & Associates in order to educate and represent individuals, families and small businesses who were struggling with debt. When I am not helping individuals with their debt problems, I spend most of my time with my wife and three children, who are actively involved in sports and youth group activities. I enjoy playing hockey, going to the lake with my children and watching movies.
Kelli Johnson – Bankruptcy Attorney
While I was growing up, I remember periods of financial struggle, especially when it was just my mother and me. Those struggles that my family faced had a huge impact on the way that I have tried to live my life. Being able to relate to the financial struggles some of our clients are going through allows me to better appreciate our clients and their dilemmas. Today, in my career, I am able to help others come through the hard times and it feels so great! When I graduated from TCU in 2001 with a political science degree, I needed income and so I chose the path of working full-time during the day as a bankruptcy legal assistant while attending law school at night. I did not know much about bankruptcy when I started out, but I learned so much back then. After completing law school, I later opened my own bankruptcy practice. I am now married to my high school sweetheart, and we have a beautiful daughter that lights up every second of our lives. Since joining Rubin & Associates in 2010, I continue to build my knowledge and understanding daily with the diverse array of bankruptcy cases we take on.
